Foundation Mission

Findlay Market

Findlay Market is Ohio’s oldest continuously-operated public market. The market is the last remaining market among the many that once served Cincinnati.

Since 1992, the Over-the-Rhine Foundation has been working to improve the quality of life in OTR. We work to protect our historic architecture, preserve our cultural heritage, promote and enhance OTR’s physical and social assets. Over-the-Rhine is more than just another neighborhood. It is the soul of Cincinnati. We believe that Over-the-Rhine’s past is the key to Cincinnati’s future, and we encourage good government and responsible public policy that will permit Over-the-Rhine to reinvigorate the image and possibilities of the City of Cincinnati.

This mission takes a variety of forms from temporary to ongoing projects. We are involved in aspects of the community that range from festivals and beautification projects to leading the way on green-historic redevelopment projects and public policy debates. The OTR Foundation is neither a closed nor ego-driven organization. We believe ardently in collaboration and partnerships that utilize the strengths of the community. Many of our projects involve committees composed of the best and brightest people who are willing to assist us in specific causes or who will let us help them with shared agendas, regardless of their membership status or even ongoing philosophical differences on other topics. Some of our current work involves the following.
